Biografía
Michael Latham Powell (30 de septiembre de 1905 - 19 de febrero de 1990) fue un renombrado director de cine inglés, celebrado por su colaboración con Emeric Pressburger. Trabajaron juntos bajo el nombre de "The Archers" y produjeron una serie de películas clásicas británicas, notablemente "The Thief of Bagdad" (1940), "49th Parallel" (1941), "The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp" (1943), "A Matter of Life and Death" (1946, también llamada "Stairway to Heaven"), "Black Narcissus" (1947) y "The Red Shoes" (1948). Sin embargo, su controvertida película de 1960 "Peeping Tom" fue tan vilipendiada que su carrera se vio seriamente dañada.
