Biografia

Frederick Jay "Rick" Rubin (nascido em 10 de março de 1963) é um executivo e produtor musical americano. Ele é co-fundador (ao lado de Russell Simmons) da Def Jam Recordings, fundador da American Recordings e ex-co-presidente da Columbia Records.

Rubin ajudou a popularizar o hip-hop produzindo discos para artistas como Beastie Boys, Geto Boys, Run-DMC, Public Enemy e LL Cool J. Ele também produziu discos de sucesso para artistas de uma variedade de outros gêneros, predominantemente heavy metal (Danzig, Metallica e Slayer), rock alternativo (the Cult, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Strokes e Weezer), hard rock (Audioslave e Aerosmith), nu-metal (Linkin Park, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down) e country (Johnny Cash e the Chicks).
