Biografia
Robert William Cray é um guitarrista e cantor de blues, roots e soul dos Estados Unidos.
Em 1974, ele formou a 'Robert Cray Band' e começou a tocar em cidades universitárias na Costa Oeste. Cray foi o baixista não creditado na banda de festa da casa 'Otis Day and the Knights' do filme 'National Lampoon's Animal House' de 1978. A Robert Cray Band lançou seu primeiro álbum em 1980, seguido por 'Strong Persuader' em 1986, 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark' em 1988 e 'Take Your Shoes Off' em 1999 - os três últimos ganharam prêmios Grammy de 'Melhor Álbum de Blues Contemporâneo'.
Cray colaborou com muitos artistas, incluindo John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Albert Collins, Johnny Copeland, Buddy Guy, Jimmie Vaughan e Stevie Ray Vaughan. Cray foi induzido ao RockWalk de Hollywood e ao Blues Hall of Fame e recebeu o prêmio Americana Music Lifetime Achievement Award for Performance.
