What CineQuiz is
CineQuiz is a catalogue of movies, TV series and dramas with quizzes, rankings, levels, achievements, lists, news and TrailerTV, available on the website and in the app. It is run by Márcio Chaves, in Brazil. By using the website or the app, creating an account or continuing with Google or Apple, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Age
You must be at least 13 to create an account; under 18 you need a parent or guardian's permission. Part of the catalogue is marked as adult content and is only reachable after confirming you are 18 or older; the app does not offer that content at all.
Playing without an account
You can browse the catalogue, search, play the daily quiz and the practice mode without an account, as a guest. Ranking, points, levels, achievements, the watchlist and notifications require an account with a verified e-mail. When you create the account, games played as a guest on the same browser or device are moved to it.
Your account
One account per person, with true information. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything that happens in your account. Signing in with Google or Apple creates an account tied to the provider's identity; if an account with the same e-mail already exists, the two are merged. You can connect and disconnect those providers in your profile — an account without a password cannot drop its only way in. You can delete the account at any time in your profile (website) or under Profile → Account (app); what happens to the data is described in the privacy policy.
What you may not do
Use bots, scripts or automation to browse, copy or extract the catalogue; circumvent usage limits; create multiple accounts or share answers to manipulate the ranking; try to access someone else's account or exploit flaws; copy the service, reverse-engineer the app or redistribute the data; use CineQuiz to send spam, harassment or illegal content. Accounts that do so may be suspended or deleted, and games obtained irregularly may be voided.
What you publish
On CineQuiz you publish a display name, a profile photo and, on the website, reviews of movies and series. That content remains yours; you grant us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to show it in the service while it is published. It must be lawful and respectful: no nudity or pornography, hate, harassment, graphic violence, advertising, links or other people's personal data. Reviews and photos go through automated moderation (including AI) before becoming public and may be refused or removed at any time. A review with a rating requires the title to be marked as watched.
Points, levels and ranking
Points, XP, levels, ranks, achievements and ranking positions are game elements, have no monetary value and cannot be sold or transferred. We may adjust the rules, recalculate scores and correct abuse to keep the game fair; when the level curve changes, nobody loses XP.
Catalogue and intellectual property
Movie, series and people data come from TMDb (The Movie Database) — this product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb — and from Wikidata and Wikipedia (texts under the CC BY-SA licence, with attribution). Trailers are shown from YouTube. Posters, images and trademarks belong to their owners. Reviews signed by AI columnists are generated by a language model from the catalogue data, identified as such and automatically checked before publication; they may contain mistakes. The CineQuiz name, logo, design, question bank and code are ours and may not be copied or reused without permission.
Donations
The website accepts voluntary donations, processed by ASAAS (PIX and card). Donating buys nothing: there is no subscription, perk, exclusive content or advertising on CineQuiz, on the website or in the app. Donations are non-refundable except where the law requires. The app has no purchases.
Notifications and e-mails
In the app, notifications are off by default and you choose, per type, what you want to receive; permission is requested in the context where it makes sense. By e-mail we send what the account requires (confirmation, password recovery) and, only with your consent, news — which you can cancel at any time in your profile or through the link in the e-mail itself.
Availability and changes
CineQuiz is provided as is. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and the app may receive automatic updates. Catalogue data comes from third parties and may contain inaccuracies; release dates, where to watch and ratings are informational and may change without notice.
Liability
We do our best to keep the service working well and safely, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or the absence of errors. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the service. Nothing here reduces the rights the law grants you, including consumer protection and data protection laws.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version, with its date, is always on this page; relevant changes are announced on the website or in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Brazilian law. Any dispute goes to the courts of your place of residence in Brazil or, if you live abroad, to the courts of the place where the person responsible for the service resides.
