Synopsis

In the polarized and violent Medellín (Colombia's 'City of Eternal Spring') of the 1970s, doctor Héctor Abad Gómez is concerned about both his children and children from less favored classes. After a devastating loss in the family, Héctor gives himself to the greater cause of public health programs for the poor in Medellín to the consternation of the city's authorities.

The film was selected to be shown at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival, which was cancelled in the wake of the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was released theatrically in Colombia on 22 August 2020. It landed its international premiere at the 68th San Sebastián International Film Festival. Cohen Media Group released the film in the United States on 16 November 2022.
