Biography

Carol Alt (born December 1, 1960, in East Williston, Long Island, New York) is an American model and actress. Carol Alt was one of the first models to leverage her success in other areas. She has her own product lines, publishes books and fitness videos, and has had opportunities as an actress.

After being discovered in 1980 during her first year at Hofstra University – where she worked as a waitress – she made it onto the cover of "Harper’s Bazaar" magazine later that same year and on the cover of the "Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue" in 1982. She has also been a spokesperson for beauty products and wrote a book (Eating In The Raw: A Beginner's Guide to Getting Slimmer, Feeling Healthier, and Looking Younger the Raw-food Way). Since 1986, she has primarily worked as an actress; for example, she played the biologist Lori Dale in "Snakehead Terror" and the biologist Christine Brown in "Swarmed."
