Biography

Helle Hertz Bro (born October 29, 1943, in Frederiksberg) is a Danish actress. Originally, she worked as a photo model. From 1960 to 1964, she was a Lommerpige (chorus girl) at ABC Teatret, after which she was associated with Det ny Scala, Allé-Scenen, and Gladsaxe Teater for the next 10 years. Many remember her from the radio series "Karlsens Kvarter," which was a great success from 1968 and for five years. On television, she has appeared in series such as "Een stor familie" and "Mor er major." She is the sister of actress Lone Hertz and actor Tony Rodian, and the mother of Anders Peter Bro, Nicolas Bro, and Laura Bro, all of whom have become actors. These children are from her previous marriage to actor Christoffer Bro. After that, she lived for 16 years with the director of Betty Nansen Teatret, Henrik Hartmann. Helle Hertz has received, among others, the Poul Reumert Scholarship, the Bodil Ipsen Anniversary Scholarship, the Clara Pontoppidan Birthday Scholarship, and the Adam Oehlenschläger Scholarship.
