Biography

Pietro Carloni (born **October 28, 1896**, in Taurisano; died **August 3, 1968**, in Rome) was an Italian actor.

Carloni came from an Apulian artistic family and began his theater career at a young age in the company of Ernesto Murolo. There, in 1921, he met his future wife, Titina De Filippo; later, he became one of the leading actors in the De Filippo family’s theater group. After other stops (in 1935, he belonged to the group *"Teatro Nuovo"* in Naples, later to the *"Cafiero/Sumo"* troupe with Nino Taranto), he remained connected to the family until his death; as late as 1967, he was seen alongside Peppino De Filippo at Rome’s *Teatro delle Arti* in the comedy *"Come si rapina una banca"*.
